Is the next Zelda game doomed to failure?

Misleading headline aside, some folks are starting to piece together information that suggests that the next Zelda game isn't going to be quite what fans are accepting. It looks like that the best we can expect is that Link will fail, bringing about the flood seen in "The Wind Waker". The worst case scenario is that Link may die.

Frankly, I think this would be an interesting approach from a storytelling standpoint. I think Nintendo is about to show the entire industry what truly mature games are all about ...
