Microsoft to give you your iTunes songs for free?

It seems like an insurmountable hurdle ... how to dethrone the iPod as the music and video player of choice? Not insurmountable for a company with the resources of Microsoft. But how do you get people to give up their extensive library of songs purchased through iTunes (which will only play on an iPod)? Easy ... give them new copies of the songs for free.

Clever idea, Microsoft's software will scan your iTunes database and unlock every song you've purchased in iTuned in their URGE music service. Now you don't have a reason to not choose a new player, except that the iPod still has that cool factor.
