American Idol "Shocker"

Chris Daughtry was sent home last night, with Daughtry and Kat McPhee in the bottom two. McPhee had a pretty poor showing the past two weeks in a row, but Daughtry was fairly solid.

So what happened? How could the front-runner have been sent home? Well, if you were surprised by this, you're awfully naive. What happened is exactly what happens every season. People grow confident that their favorites will slide into the next round, and simply stop voting for them.

Can Kat survive to the final two? She'd better turn on the charm and the talent next week!
