Vaya con dios, Eddie Guerrero ...
Eddie Guerrero was found dead in his hotel room Sunday morning.
I've been a wrestling fan for a long time, and Eddie Guerrero has been a large part of the reason why I enjoy wrestling so much. The guy was from the old guard, guys who didn't need a writer to give them lines ... a guy who could tell a story inside and outside the ring. He had unbelievable charisma, and tried to leave it all in the ring.
Unfortunately, he also wrestled with the proverbial "personal demons", and while the cause of death has yet to be determined, it's likely that his demons finally caught up with him. It seems that Eddie's demons were always strengthened when Eddie seemed to be put into the position of carrying the company to a certain degree ... the last time being when Eddie became champion. Sure enough, reports are that Eddie was going to be taking over for an injured Batista, and it appeared that the pressure was too much.
Eddie is survived by his wife and three young daughters. WWE held an Eddie Guererro tribute show Sunday in what was supposed to be a RAW/Smackdown! SuperShow. Spoilers are already available, but each will be aired (RAW Monday night, SmackDown! Friday night) this week.
Vaya Con Dios, Eddie.
Update: The autopsy revealed that Guererro died of heart disease, most likely accellerated by his past issues with drugs, painkillers, and alcohol. His blood vessels were narrow, and his heart was enlarged due to the disease and his workout regimen. Eddie's wife Vicki had this to say ...
There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn’t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn’t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn’t feeling good and we thought it was just “road tired.” So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted.

I have been and still am a wrestling fan for years. I was so very sad when I saw wwe on Monday night and Mr. Mcmahon said that Eddie Guerro had died. I just couldn't believe it at first, I cried so hard. I loved Eddie Guerro as a wrestler. He would make me laugh so hard when he would be in the ring and cheat to win his wrestling matches sometime. I am going to miss seeing you, Eddie on wwe raw on monday nights. It is just so hard for me to believe that you have gone. I know you are in heaven looking down on your coworker wrestlers and your wonderful wife, daughters and your family.
I AM SUCH AN EDDIE GUERO FAN AND I AM DEEPLY SADEN BY THIS HORRIBLE NEWS.MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO EDDIES FAMILY. VIVA LA RASA
