Don't shoot the messenger (pun somewhat intended), but if you want to educate kids about violence and guns, maybe it's time to start putting them in their hands, and training them on safety. This 8-year-old passed her mandatory gun safety test with 98%, which is likely better than most adults.

The only people that accidentally injure or kill someone with a gun are the people that don't know how to use or care for them properly.

There's also something to be said for removing the allure and fascination with the forbidden by educating people (kids) about it. Kids want to experiement with things, and if you help them do it in a safe manner, it takes much of the "fun" and shock value out of it.
