UW Bothell Orientation
Attended the orientation at the University of Washington, Bothell yesterday, picked up my student ID and various chotchkes from the various school organizations, and experienced for the first time what my new commuting situation will be like (verdict: not good). There was an address by the interim chancellor of UWB, Steven Olswang, and a nicely catered barbecue. I met up with my friend Deanna from Cascadia and we caught up a bit (we're both taking the same double concentrations of Marketing and Management), then headed to the Business Program reception. Various members of the faculty and clubs spoke, and emphasized that getting involved with these extra-curricular programs is frequently the determining factor when it comes to successfully finding a job post-degree. Seemed obvious to me, but then again, I've been out of school long enough to know how the "real world" works.
I've decided that it would be in my best interest to apply to become a Business Student Ambassador, and to become involved in the UWB Entrepreneur's Network. I haven't figured out just yet where the time is going to come from, but I'm sure with a little ingenuity, I'll find a way to bend time and space to my will.
Today is the first day of classes, and I can hardly wait to get started!
