Trip to the Ocean
Annie and I had a wonderful time at Ocean Shores this weekend, but I think that the best time was had by Casey the Beagle. If that isn't the face of pure joy, I don't know what is. He's been exhausted for two days straight so far, and I think we ran him a little hard (it's tough to run on sand). Of course, his schedule has been upset since Daddy moved to a 5AM shift and Mama has to get him up in the morning to go for a walk ... interrupting his busy schedule of sleeping and occasionally snoring.
Played a little at the Quinault Casino Saturday night, and while Annie enjoyed losing money on the slot machines and Roulette table, I made up for her losses at Three Card Poker. It's funny, it's pretty much the same pattern every time we go out to a casino ... I make up for what she loses, but we all had a good time, and that's really all that matters. Interestingly enough, staying at the casino is just $20 more expensive than the place we were staying in Ocean Shores proper, though they don't allow pets. Perhaps some weekend Annie and I will go down there and let Casey stay with his Aunt Cindy ... but considering how much fun he had, I don't know that I could really leave him at home.
Today I have my Orientation at the UW, my introduction to the Business program, and Wednesday is my first day of classes. I analyzed my schedule the other day, and I think I might have made a critical error ... Getting up at 4AM, Work from 5AM-2PM, School from 3:30-8PM Monday & Wednesday (5:45 Tuesday and Thursday), Home by 9PM, an hour or two of homework puts me to bed at about 11PM. Considering it takes me roughly an hour to get to sleep, that's about four hours of sleep a night. Thank goodness for Fridays and weekends, or I'd barely be able to function.
