George W. Bush abandons Americans - PRAVDA.Ru
The Russian media doesn't think very highly of our President's actions ... and quite frankly, neither do I.
This disaster was entirely forseeable. We knew for an absolute fact that the Hurricane was going to hit somewhere ... so why weren't our disaster resources prepared? Why was President Bush on vacation (again!) while his citizens were dying?
He has expressed a complete disinterest in the plight of his constituents, much like he ignored the pleas of a woman who lost her son in the war. He then rejects all offers of aid from other countries, again, while his people are dying.
It's easy to be a Monday Morning quarterback, but this isn't really a difficult decision to figure out. There weren't any meetings required ... you simply react by mobilizing everyone, get them in place, and figure it out later. It might not be the most effective solution, but at least it shows the country (and the world) that you're LEADING. You can't lead the country through a major natural disaster from a golf course.
Besides, President Bush has already shown that he knows what it means to mobilize first and plan the action later ... since it's precisely how he's handled the "war".
Sometimes, I'm absolutely disgusted to be a Republican.
