Google Talk has been released!

Speak of the devil ... Google Talk is up and going. Interface is nice and clean ... almost too clean. Then again, people tend to say that a lot about Google's interfaces. Personally, I think less is more, but not necessarily when you've got an IM client with no one on it. ;)

I'll drag my USB Headset out later and see how it goes ...

Need an invite to Gmail so you can try it out? Shoot me a line ... my Gmail account should be easy enough to figure out. :)

Update: Is anyone old enough to remember "Hunt the Wumpus"? Turns out Google hid a little mini-game in the Talk client. Right-Click the bubble in your Taskbar, and choose About. There is a hidden message that says "play 23 21 13 16 21 19 . 7 1 13 5". If you convert the numbers to letters, it says "play wumpus.game". If you IM wumpus.game@gmail.com, you'll be able to play.
I love those Google guys. Always entertaining.

By the way, if you don't like having your contact list show wumpus.game@gmail.com, change it! Right click the Contact and choose "Rename ..." That explains why Google didn't give us the ability to change our own names, and I like that. It drives me nuts never knowing who someone is on MSN Messenger until I check their profile. I never understood the allure of changing your name ...
