Stress Relief
You really have no idea of how much stress the body is capable of dealing with until most of it is all released at the same time. I've been juggling far too many balls lately (some better than others), and in the space of about two weeks, I was able to drop most of them and just relax.
Of course, now that relaxation isn't going to last long (though I'm going to milk it for another day or two), because I register for my Junior year at the UW on MONDAY. Even that isn't going to be as stressful as it could have been, since my financial aid was finally approved. Better yet, with some generous graduation gifts from family and friends (and extra aid), I should be able to replace my laptop with a Toshiba M200 Tablet PC. Robert Scoble posted a story about a well-known political blogger who had picked up a Motion slate-style Tablet, and just loves it (though opts for doing his writing on a Desktop due to the lack of keyboard ... why not get a convertible). I've found it for about $1800 at Newegg, which is right about the ballpark I want to be in.
Of course, now I need to find myself a job, whether just for the summer, or something a bit more permanent, I'm not sure. I'm keeping my options open, but I've found a few openings at Children's Hospital (within walking distance of my new apartment) that might be challenging and rewarding, and the mission of Children's is certainly one I can get behind. I'd ideally like to get something that will allow me to dictate my schedule to fit in with my classes at the UW, since I'd like the luxury of taking a class at a time to get the "right" instructor. We'll see how that goes.
Anyway, another day or two of lounging, and then I can start piling the stress on again. :)
