PARANOIA XP

One of my favorite RPGs when I was a kid (back before they had those spiffy newfangled computerized RPGs, you know, the ones that require a computer that you spend three months optimizing and about as much salary axquiring) was a game called PARANOIA. It's a tough concept to explain, and it's above your security clearance anyway, but the game has been, for lack of a better word, offline, for several years now.

Somehow, this completely slipped under my radar, but PARANIOA has been reborn and revamped for the 21st Century as PARANOIA XP. And it's going to be released this month. I'm somewhat giddy, but then the news that PARANOIA has been alive on the 'Net for quite a while, and somehow, I've been completely oblivious to it. I must have been demoted back to Red Security Clearance.

If you're interested in finding out what PARANOIA is all about, check out Paranoia LIVE. Of course, if you don't, you're obviously a commie mutant traitor, or a spammer. Once you're convinced that it would be highly treasonous to not want to play PARANOIA, you can get the new series of books coming out soon:

Update: Mongoose Publishing, the new publishers for PARANOIA XP, have posted a PDF of the new PARANOIA XP Character Sheet. Get a head start. By the way, head starts are Treason! And by the completely different way, PARANOIA XP officially launches at GenCon today, and should be available within a couple weeks at non-treasonous game stores soon!

I'm afraid it's not true, Friend Computer, and I have arrived exactly on time for every one of my previous Happy Hygiene appointments! But never you fret, as I will seek out the source of this clear attempt at sabotage by what is undoubtedly some sort of Commie Mutant Terrorist, and deliver him unto justice.
