Child's Play

Mike and Jerry, the guys behind the excellent Penny Arcade webcomic, are saints. Last year, they banded the gaming community together to donate toys to our local Seattle Children's Hospital. Two guys (ok, ok, three if you count "The Khoo"), managed to organize an event that raised $250,000 in cash and toys to bring a little sunshine into the lives of kids that are very sick.

Why did they do it? To share their love of gaming with kids that desparately need a little fun in their lives. And to show the media that videogames aren't all about kids killing other kids, and that the gaming community can do positive things as well.

This year, they've expanded past Seattle and have brought four other Children's Hospitals into the fold. I have no doubt that they'll crack a million in toys and cash for these deserving kids. I'm constantly amazed at what these two guys can pull off, especially since they're really not quite right in the head. But God bless 'em for it.

Why are you still here reading this? Get over to Child's Play and GIVE, you heathen. The kids need your help.
