Playfeed | PS3: $499 Version Lacks HDMI, Memory Stick

Sony laid a giant egg with their pricing, coming in at a massive $100 price delta for their low-end rig compared to Microsoft's high-end system. What's worse is that the low-end PS3 is crippled, as Sony removed the Wireless Networking, HDMI port, and Memory Card ports, as well as 40GB of hard drive space. At least the Xbox360 Core was upgradeable to the full box (sans shiny drive bay) if you wanted to spend the money. Try to save $100 in the short term on a PS3, and you're just plain screwed.

It's worth noting that the Dual "Shock" is crippled too, losing the shock in favor of, dare I say, Wii-esque tilt features. Even so, the real innovation in the Wii controller is the position sensing combined with the accellerometer, so even this new controller just a bastardized version of what might have been.
