Think Secret - EXCLUSIVE: 60GB iPod to pack photo-viewing features

Don't know if this is true, but ThinkSecret claims that an upcoming 60GB iPod will have a color display, a/v out, and can display photos. As a handy bit of obvious application, the new iPod will be able to display album art on the iPod screen. That seems like a no-brainer, since iTunes does it already.

Not sure what to think about my current iPod being obsoleted already, but at the same time, I know that my wife has been lusting after mine, so it might be an excuse to upgrade. Still, $499 is a lot more expensive than free.

Speaking of my free iPod, I'm glad I got mine when I did. It seems that the iPods that Gratis Network is sending out now have freeiPods.com engraved on the back. Lame ...

Update: It didn't occur to me until just now, but there's something very obvious about this rumor that no one seems to be connecting the dots to. The rumor states that music syncing would be done through iTunes (natch), but photo syncing would be done with iPhoto.

Doesn't that mean that there is a version of iPhoto coming to Windows?! Maybe not, but given iTunes success, it makes sense to me.

Update 2: Well, it's all over the news now, a 40GB and 60GB iPod with color screen and TV output for photos. No iPhoto for Windows announced, but an upgraded version of iTunes that supports cataloging photos. The prices are the killer ... $499 for the 40GB version, and $599 for the 60GB. Considering you can get a full video player for the same price, I can't see many justifying the price premium. I wonder when FreeColoriPods.com opens???
