PSP Pricing Pondered

Forgive the terrible alliteration, but Sony has announced the Japanese pricing for the PlayStation Portable. After the exchange rates, it comes in at about $195 ... far more reasonable than many analysts predicted (myself included). It's clear that Sony is eating a LOT of the cost of this thing, in an effort to absolutely decimate Nintendo's DS. Problem is, battery life is still going to kill it 4-6 hours just isn't enough.

Anyway, it appears that we're actually going to have a horserace. The DS is launching next month, while the PSP won't hit the US until March or so. We all know what a healthy headstart can do ...
