Penny Arcade Expo (PAX)

Penny Arcade is holding their third-annual PAX, the Penny Arcade Expo, this Friday through Sunday. With the recent demise of E3, PAX is now positioned to be the premiere gaming event for companies that really want to get up close and personal with their fans.

I'll be covering the event for Planet GameCube (for Nintendo news and information), as well as GearLive / Playfeed, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the show has evolved now that more publishers and developers are taking notice of Penny Arcade's unique ability to touch their fans.

Personally, I'm hoping that Nintendo will have clued in, and will have Wii on display in some fashion, bu that's probably just my bitterness over missing E3 talking. Is there any news left over after the Leipzig Game Convention? Let's hope so.

If you're looking for me at the show, I'll probably be attending some of the more interesting panels and sessions ("The Role of Community and PR in the Game Industry", "I'm Getting Old: When Life Cuts Into Gaming"), checking out the concerts, or watching "The Wizard". And of course, I'll be following the exploits of the Omeganauts as they vie for a completely tricked out Scion xB (the gaming upgrades doubled the cost of the car!).
