Microsoft tries to deny Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays
Can you really unring the bell like that?
No, you can't. What's worse, this isn't even the first time that Edelman has tried to "walk back" a press release sent out earlier than they had planned. Maybe they didn't have all their ducks in a row, but sending out a "recall" e-mail and hoping you can get THOUSANDS of websites, outlets, and independent journalists to comply with what is a patently ridiculous request is just foolish. Just tell them that you might have goofed on a date, or that the information is still tenative. Don't ask us to remove it when you know full well that 95% of the content is true (and probably even all of it, but you wanted to wait to release it).
What's sad is that I don't know Edelman and company to usually be this clueless about stuff, nor is Microsoft. Still, the Xbox group for both companies don't seem to get it quite yet.
And just in case you were wondering what it's all about ...
July 12: Frogger
July 19: Cloning Clyde
July 26: Galaga (!)
August 2: Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting (!!)
August 9: Pac Man
I'd have killed for Ms. Pac Man instead.
