James Governor's MonkChips: My First Gartner Cease And Desist: the missing link
James Governor is worried about linking to a website. I can't blame him really, after Gartner sent a cease & desist for linking to one of their reports. One of their reports linked from one of thier partners, too (SAS).
It's ridiculous, Gartner posts one of their reports on their website without any sort of authorization or validation needed, and while it's OK for one person/company to link to it, it's not OK for another? No where on this page does it say that I can't link to it, only that I can't reproduce it.
Screw that. Want to read a Gartner report for free?

Cool - I could care less about the report, but its fun to watch the report get linked to by 50 other people.
Gartner - the cluetrain is pulling out.
Seriously, is there any legal grounds against deep linking???
