Judge puts his own code in ‘Da Vinci’ ruling - BOOKS - MSNBC.com

This is just wild. Judge Smith (who presided over the copyright infringement case against Random House and Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code) apparently inserted a hidden code into his judgement, which it took lawyers three weeks to discover. Now they're all trying to break the code and find out what hidden message the judge included in the document.

No one seems upset by this, taking the code in the manner in which it was intended ... just a hearty bit of fun that pays homage to both of the texts involved in the lawsuit. I might hop onto LexisNexis (god bless University access) and download a copy, just to give it a shot.

Update: That was easier than I thought. The full text of the ruling is available in PDF format.
