Why computer newbs shouldn't mess with $500 graphics card (pic)

I know some of my family read my blog, and since many of them aren't as comfortable with computers as I am (thought none of them are quite this naive), I'd just like to say this ...

There has never been a computer part that was designed for you to take scissors to if it doesn't fit. Everything on part of a computer is there for a reason. If you ever think that you should fold, spindle, or otherwise mutilate something to get it to fit in your computer, please, call me. You have my number.
