Never Trust Seattle Weather ...
One thing I've learned after living in Seattle is that you should never trust the weather. At least, I thought I'd learned it. It was a nice day today, and I have no air conditioning in my '91 Metro, so I open the sunroof when I'm driving to work. And I usually leave it open so that on my way home, it's cool in the car.
This evening, a flash rainstorm comes through (just as I'm watching Hurricane Katrina coverage on the web), and I'm thinking, "Wow, that's eerie." What I'm not thinking about, however, is my open sunroof.
My wife (God bless her) comes to visit and bring me dinner from her father's birthday (since I can't make these events because of my work schedule), and mentions to me that I might want to think about shutting my sunroof. I beat foot out to my car, and damn it ... both seats are absolutely soaked. I got a towel and I'm hoping to mostly dry it out before I have to go home, but it's really going to be a soggy drive.
Still watching Katrina coverage that WWL 4 is providing ... or at least, trying to. The site is currently experiencing "the digg effect", since my story hit the front page, and they're the only news organization that can broadcast out of the area. The feed has been absolutely crippled with traffic.
