EA Responds to Sims 2 "Nudity" Claims

I'd never have thought that I'd be praising EA for anything, but I'm glad that one of the industry heavyweights is stepping up and bringing some sanity back to these recent events.

Developers have hidden things in code for decades. Some things were designed to be found, some were hidden because it was easier to disable the code than remove it (but aren't intended to be seen). It's obvious to me that the "Hot Coffee" debacle was an example of the latter.

No, I don't beleive that GTA: San Andreas should have had it's rating changed, regardless of who created the content in question. That said, you can't put the genie back in the bottle, but unfortunately, it's going to haunt the entire industry. Kudos to EA for taking this stance, even though the Sims 2 issue is fundamentally different than the Rockstar problem.
