I got the iPod!

Thanks to all of you that signed up at FreeiPods.com and completed an order. I got my five referrals, and a brand-new 4th Generation 20GB iPod just shipped out to me! Yippee!

Update: I've created a "Successes" thread at GearLive.com to showcase how many people it's worked for. We're up to 14 so far, with more that haven't checked in yet!

Update 2: Turns out that due to a database snafu between eCost.com and FreeiPods.com, the iPod hadn't actually shipped yet, but it did earlier this week. I should have that little white brick of goodness in my grubby mitts either Friday or Monday. I've already got my iTrip FM transmitter here (it was an Anniversary gift from my wife), so I should be ready to rock and/or roll.

Aren't you concerned about postal Junk Mail, Phone soliciters, Spam etc?

You just gave your postal address to a Junk Mail company who will sell your personal information to zillions of companies.

They need to sell $(Cost of iPod) + $(Profit) worth of information.

How do you deal with that?

Not really concerned, no. I'm on the Do Not Call list, and postal spam is easy enough to deal with ... because it costs them more to actually send postal mail, and I'll just throw away what I don't want.

I think the concerns are a bit overblown. The only thing I was concerned about was my credit card information (which FreeiPods.com never sees), so I used a one-time-use number.
